AE Vented V2 Slipper Hubs
Anyone using these yet that has any feed back?
I got a set and installed them and it binds my transmission. The spur will not spin freely. I take them off, put the stock v2's back on the truck and it spins freely.
Anyone else having this problem?

my only guess would be that your gear mesh wouldn't be set properly. I'm not saying that it couldn't be something else, but slipper pads and slipper plates wouldn't "bind" anything as they aren't actually the gear. check that first, then go from there. Also, make sure the slipper pads are sitting on the spur gear correctly.

I'm confused! I'll keep messing with it.

Mine did the same. It's the new hub rubbing on the motor plate. I was running the thick motor plate and switched it out with an older one, problem went away. The new plates are machined differently for some reason. I was pitting next to BT when I found this out so he know's about it.

However, that sucks that AE would sell these with out testing them on the motor plate that they supply with their kits!
So now I need to buy a new motor plate? How would I know I'll be getting the older version?

I sent an email to AE to see if they know about it and what they can do.

What does this have to do with changing the slipper plates? Nothing, you don't touch the tranny screws to change the plates...

Transmission case screw's (#6928 )
Torque above screws to tight and the back slipper plate can rub same screws and bind....
Lock-Tight a must use as the screws can easily back off with time...

I can agree with this. Om my FT SC10 I had the trans screws a little to tight and the end of one put a nice engraving in the back slipper plate. If one of the screws is too tight and the new slipper plate having the holes it could be catching inside one of the holes as well.

still saying that if the old plates didn't rub and the new ones do it's a plate issue, because you don't have to touch the tranny screws to change the plates.
I'm gonna post untill you say uncle, Cherry. Just the mood I'm in at the moment
