I run Associated springs on my Blitz. Gold front and Silver rear. 50 wt in front 40 wt in rear Associated oil. Works great on indoor med traction. In the summer I run red/blue.

Part of the different answers are because all the shock oil is rated differently.. The 50wt hpi oil is equal to 37.5wt or so losi oil? So rcracenut's 50/40wt doesn't really tell you anything without what brand fluid he put in, it sounds thick but if thats hpi 50 its not. Also blitz rtr & ese came with different fluids. Also there is no one solution, depends what surface your driving on and how you drive your car. In general people run about 5wt heavier in front though. (35/30, 37.5/32.5, 40/35)
from users.telenet.be/elvo/
"Heavier Thicker oil (heavier damping) makes the car more stable, and makes it handle more smoothly.
It also makes the car jump and land better.
If damping is too heavy, traction could be lost in bumpy sections.
Softer Soft damping (and springing) is better for shallow, ripply bumps.
It also makes the car react quicker."

I should have stated that the dirt track I race at is smooth. The oil I use is Associated. I also drilled the pistons with a # 56 drill bit. Hes right. On the outdoor where it tends to be rougher I will run a 40/30 or 35/30 combo.
