Default How to check thermometer is accurate

Hi everyone. I have a digital thermometer that i have been using to check my brushless motor temps in my HB d8 tekno v3 buggy. Just wondering is their any way of testing how accurate these thermometers are? I want the most accurate readings as possible and i need a way to test that? please let me know if you have any ways of checking that. thanks
matt

fill a glass with ice and water. let set for a few min. waterr temp should be 32 or very close to that this will give you a know value. pint your temp gun and check. thats how we check our a/c thermo's im sure it would work on a digital.

Your forehead is not typically 98.6. That is normal core temperature. I don't know if your temp gun will read water, but if you boil water you can be sure it is right around 212F

How about the back of your throat? That should be 98.6. However, don't do this method when you're feeling sick.

Are you using a infrared thermometer? Or a thermocouple type device?
