Team Orion 17.5 motor. Orion motors are very smooth and tons of torque.

Fantom Ion 3 (or the team Epic Duo 3) are some FANTASTIC motors for stock

Oh, and these motors are excellent with their gearing and temperature 'issues'. They run cool and strong where most others wont

I haven't been impressed with my ballistics. My tekins and my Trinity epic duo 2 are much better. I think the trinity is my favorite.

I know in my TC5 running no boost I had to gear my Losi 17.5 8 teeth higher than my LRP X12 17.5 to get the same speed. (Both with no motor timing)

i have a novak ballistic in a b4.1.i dont know if its the speedo or what but most the other cars on the track seem to have better lowend torque than me,but once were going down the straight it all seems equal.im running 72-31 gearing and the motor has never got above 110 degrees.im going to try another brand also just i have something to compare to.lastly this motor is extremly silky smooth!

Been running D3s for the past 6-8 months and they are amazing motors. Run cool, pull hard, respond to timing VERY well. I prefer them over the others personally, with that said the other companies motors are good quality as well such as Tekin, Novak and such...

I have one of the Ballistic 1300+ motors that my son has used a few times to run stock as an extra class. This thing is really strong with no boost, and freakish fast when I ran it with a Mamba Max Pro with lots of boost.

When I first got into electric racing (mainly a nitro guy) I bought a bunch of motors. Ballistic 17.5, Orion 17.5, SS Novak 17.5, Trinity Epic Duo 2 17.5. I run the Tekin RS w/ Boost & Turbo too, nothing crazy. On my first race I was running the ballistic and was not impressed at all, the SS was good as well. In my 2wd buggy I had the Orion and not knowing much about timing and not being able to see the timing notches I had it MAXED out, if there was a number on the can it would be 110 or more!! It flew!! But only lasted 2 races and FRIED. My buddy was running the Trinity Duo3 and omg it moved. So I bought 2 for my buggy & truck. It makes more power on stock timing than the ballistic & SS with almost maxed, and it runs much cooler, when you have a motor that makes more power it's the less I'm on the throttle, and I use almost half the MAH now. Also the Trinity motors are cheaper than Novaks, and last much longer, I have a brand new ballistic my very first bought that just NEVER worked, and needs to be sent back.

I have a brand new 17.5 Duo 3 in the box if anyone is interested I'm moving to modified...

Hello,
Stock buggy is a great class, I ran it for my first two years.....I am moving onto mod this season...starting fairly mild with a 9.5.......as for a 17.5 motor that is smooth, very controllable and very efficient....If possible, try a Viper VST....you might just like it
