Default HELP!!

I just got my new orion in the mail. I broke the motor in "the dry method way". I then decide to drive it around a little, and i notice the motor keeps on sparking when i hit the throttle. What's the cause of this? Is it normal for new motors? Thanks in advance!!

Thank you for the very quick reply. This may be a newbie question, but what do you mean by no metal touching each other? Like which metal in the truck?

He means the wires going to the motor. Since the things that they solder to are close together, sometimes they touch. You need to make sure there is a gap between all of them.

D-rek thanks, but the wires you mean are the wires that have color right? For example (red and black) thanks!

Ok, i checked my motor and none of the metal were touching. They had a pretty big gap between them. Do you think my motor needs to be broken in more to stop the sparking?

Is it also common if huge sparks appear, when doing full throttle? Thanks

Well they shouldnt be shooting out of the motor lol.

But yes you will see some arcing happen between the comm and the brushes when looking inside, and it is normal. More throttle, more arc. Be sure to keep that stuff clean and in order, it is like the heart to that beast.

I remember carrying around a small file to tidy the ends of the brushes after a few runs. It works pretty well if you keep them from attaining burrs and sharp edges.
