Default Turnigy Lipo's...

I am asking this for a friend:

I know this has probably been covered but I don't have time to weed out the search results.

So my question is:How are Turnigy's lipo's,did they work for you,did they hold up,what is your opinion of their quality???

Thank you For Any Responses

in my experiences with them{all of my lipos are turnigys}, they are awesome for the money..

if you dont mind spending the time to check solder connections and such, you cant go wrong.

if its a hardcase pack, use some foam padding on each side of the battery, and then CA glue the case back together.

if its a softcase, just be careful with it like any other softcase pack.

as far as runtimes/power/etc etc....they simply cannot be beat. im sure people who must have the higher priced name brand batteries will bash me for saying so...but ive ran all kinds of batts in my high current/high power r/c's...and i cant tell a difference enough to justify spending 100+ more per battery.

my 25c 4s 5200 mah packs have no issues running my SC8E thats geared rather high, they dont puff or swell, and there always cool afterwards..

compare that to a thunderpower ive ran before thats a claimed 60c constant...and its 130 degrees when i pull it out of the truck...

for the money, they are pretty good although the the performance is under par with most batteries. Look up Gen Ace lipos. I have some of those and they are much higher quality than Turnigy lipos and only about 5-10 dollars more for a pack of the same specs.

Id love to know how you guys judge the performance...

i run my SC8E every weekend, with it geared 22/46 on 4 and 6s...and i see no noticable increase/decrease in power when running different lipos, only thing ive noticed, is my turnigys are always cold after every run, alot of the higher priced name brand batteries are in the 130/150 range...not sure why either.

I've picked up a couple 2s 4000 hardcase packs. For under $20 a pack, they have been fantastic. Actually regardless of price I still like them.

I run both the reedy, thunder power, maxamps and turnigy 4s lipos in my 1/8 buggy and they all work great the main difference between the turnigy and the rest is price!

I wasnt going to post on here as this is probably the umpteenth time I've seen threads like this.

But your "review" of Turnigy's "under par" batteries leave kind of a sour taste in my mouth. And your statement that Gen Aces " are a much higher quality" is based on what? Rather than spouting a generic " Chevy is better than Ford" comment, give us some reasons or post some data. Hell, we'll take a link even.

But whatever.....thats your opinion and you can stand behind that if you like.
I know what works for me and the performance of my 10+ Turnigys is no less than any Venom, Maxamps or TP lipo's I've had previously.

Between a buddy of mines, me and my buddy ordered about 7-8 Turnigy lipos. So far, we only had one 4S pack fail. Like others mentioned, you can't beat the price.

As almost everyone here have stated the turnigy's work great. I have 2s and 4s turnigy packs and they are the only ones I buy now. You or your friend will be pleased with them.
