Default Lipo voltage is 0.0 HELP!!!

Long story short, while soldering a deans plug to a Turnigy 5000 4 cell 14.8v battery, the wires were soldered to the wrong tabs

Didn't notice this until I plugged it in to the ESC. Needless to say it poped and arched at contact. I tried another battery and the esc is fine, motor is fine. I unsoldered the deans, corrected the + - connection and tried to charge it. My charger read the balancing plug was connected but then said no battery. I checked the wires all over, good connections. Checked the voltage at the plug and it reads 0.0, my meter has the sharp tips so I pierced the plactic coating to get to the wires directly, still reads 0.0

Is there any thing else I can try or is this one history?

dead pack....when ever the voltage drops that LOW its GONE!! people bring packs to the track for us to check we will see voltage low as 2.4 so its wasted.

When it shorted out it may have burned a connection loose on one of the cells. You will have to cut the plastic off to see and repair it if needed. What voltages do you get when measuring through the balance connector?

Sounds dead to me. If you cut it open do it outside. I cut one open once and started a fire in my basement. My wife loved that one!

I would check at the balance plug to see if you get anything at all. Like stated it probably burned a connection inside that links two cells together.

If you take on the task of trying to repair this pack I would use some caution.

Personally I would also ask myself if this pack is worth it.

^^^^ for the price of that a pack it's up to you if you want to take the gamble and try and fix it, or let someone else try. I bet you won't make that mistake ever again!! I know I wouldn't.

No worse than the one under the hood of your car. Short the terminals on that and see what happens. Respect is the key.

good point actually. If you think about what happens if you burn one and the smoke you inhail into your lungs from one then it would mess your lungs up pretty badly.

thats another good valid point fellas, like if the battery is a older battery and you are just seeing if there was a easy way to maybe fixing it. If it was a brand new $150 battery i might look at getting it repaired but still then theres alot involved and in the end it might just be the easier route going with a brand new pack
