Default motor size question

In an SC8 would a 5.5turn or 10.5 motor or a 3000kv motor work with that?

I think you are looking at the 1/10 scale motors. Those are going to be too small.

You need to look at the 1/8 scale stuff. Usually in the range of 1400kv-2200kv or so. Such as the Tekin T8 series for example. The KV rating you choose is going to be dependent on what kind of batteries you want to run.

Heres an example link:

Precisely... Thats why the make 1/8th scale motors... For 1/8th scale vehicles. If you put a 1/10th scale motor on it, you would just burn it up.
A good combo for that thing would be a Tekin RX8 and a 1900kv motor on 4S lipo power.

If your on a budget!

Hobbywing ESC with the 2050 motor with an digital pit box $180 had no problems. Run that with a 4s and you will make 15 min easy. Heck mains are only 10min anyways!

I had better luck than the $300 tekin systems
