Default my ve8

Hey, I am getting my ve8 tomorrow, so here is what i am doing.

as soon as i get it i will cycle the lipo.

then i will use the dot 4 brake fluid to strip the paint off the body.

then while that sits i will start rebuilding the car.

after i am finished i will paint the body.

so my question is since i no longer have acces to a vinyl cutter thanks to mr dudeck (http://www.wfmz.com/lehighvalleynews...60/detail.html) how should i make my decal things? i was going to do an orange body with a thick black stripe down the middle and white highlights on the side of the stripe. but i wanted to put ktm on the sides and in the stripe. i was going to use the vinyl cutter to make some masks or whatever they are. but now i dont know what to do. how do i make masks or whatever

Liquid mask and a steady hand...

You can also use painters tape or adhesive backed printer paper and cut the designs out by hand with scissors or a knife. Lettering will take a while without a vinyl cutter, but will come out nice if you are patient.

Just be careful and make sure they are clear. Clear doesn't mean clear on those. I got a couple packs only to get back and find out they had a matte finish. Don't hesitate to open up and check in the store. Oh and get in to the VE8 thread, your VE8 isn't that special Just joking around but lots of people who might be able to offer advice might miss you.

What the? Just buy a new body instead of taking paint off a used one and painting it again. Its pointless and waste of time. Also makes lexan more brittle. This isnt a cheap hobby and the car you car isn't a big deal. Prepair to spend. If you dont have a willing spending mind rc wont last. The ve8 will break a chassis sooner or later and they wear faster then other e cars. Not saying the hb car is junk its just made affordable. For the price there not worth buying used really.

the only reason i am doing the body this way is because i only have 100 do do my build and i dont want to wait for a new body.

I konw how expensive this hobby is i had an hpi 5b

ok thrn i shall put in an order after this for a chassis some a arms some drice shafts and skid plates what else should i get if i am not over budget?

As soon as i sell the remains of my baja then i should have some more money for this ongoing project

I think you should take this to the Ve8 thread and read to find what you would like to do. Lots of great info in there and we can keep it all in one thread.
I also just got my Ve8 and love it so far.. Just for the record..lol
