Balancing plugs

Thanks for the read. Some pretty basic info as this all seems pretty straightforward.
Im seriously thinking about pulling that orange wire altogether and just using a plug that i have off of an extra Orion IBS pigtail.
Example:
My main packs have no external balance wires. I have a few extras i dont use and am gonna see if the pins will fit into the new plug.
