The VE8 is a nice buggy for the price.

I personally recommend the Associated RC8BE. Definitely throw it into the mix.

The Ve8 is a great buggy and drives very well. I run a MMP and tekin 2050 in my ve8. I don't have any experience with any other buggy but i can tell you that the mugen buggys are very nice and so are the losi and AE. These are very nice to http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Road-Buggy-Kit

Why would you get a mugen over the rc8be? I'm just interested to know since I also have a rc8be.

Mugen is rock solid. I have several brushless MBX5Rs (including a SP 2200kv) and two MBX6s. RC8 cannot compare in taking a beating, I had one.

I started 1/8 EP with an RC8, then moved to a losi 8, then to a Xray 808 09'
The Xray is my favorite and the Losi is my backup.

If you can, test drive some cars and find one that fits your driving style. Any of the buggy's already mentioned are capable of being competitive. No matter what you choose you still have to drive it

As much as I love my rc8be, I believe the mugen is better quality and equally race worthy.
