Default MBX6 Eco or Eight 2.0 e

Hi

We need your experience and feedback to make our final decision between:
- Mugen MBX6 Eco
- Losi Eight 2.0 e

As we are in Barcelona and run on a off-road track.
The reliability and cost of spare parts will be a key factor for us
(we have no local dealer nearby and order everything via Web)

Thank you by advance for sharing your knowledge.

The Losi will wear a little faster than the Mugen, but which one fits your style is the real question. Losi likes a smooth driver, Mugen likes to be pushed.

So to complete the picture and gives you more context.

We plan to run the new car in 4S with one of the following (tbd):
- Combo Castle Mamba Monster 1515 2200 Kv
or
- ESC Xerun 150AMP + Hobbywing 2000KV

For the style and the track, we are the smoothers from our track
But the ground is hard and completely irregular.
All the other pilots are nitro (and completely crasy).
Just 2-3 Mugen and 1 Losi, all other in Kyo#%£$$$$.

I can't post the Youtube video of our club (not enough post on this forum yet)
but I can send it in MP for those of you who are interested.

Thanks again for your advice and feedback.

Yes both buggies are good and both like to be driven hard. As said the Mugen parts will hold up better then Losi. The Losi might be easier to get part support, but you will need to check your LHS.

I have owned both nitro cars and the Mugen is the only way to go. The losi is a good car but requires a lot of maintenance.

Both would be good, but as mentioned the Losi wears a bit faster from what I've seen. Still a great buggy. As for your setup, possibly check out the 1900kv motor on 4S rather than 2200. It's a good deal smoother and more controllable.

The only part that really wears fast on the Losi is the center front cvd. I just changed mine after a full race season.

Thank you guys.

I just ordered the MBX6e with a Xerun 150A and Hobbywing sensored 2000 Kv.

For those who will read this post and could have the same doubt than mine, here is a summary of my pro/con list (in addition of the answers you can read above):

Pro
+ my personal feeling for the brand and the general conception of the buggy
+ largest distribution in my area (spare parts)
+ more Mugen in my club
+ Metric Screws
+ Even for a brand new product, (compare to the +1 yr of the Losi)
more forum discussions, videos and passion from MBX6e owners

Con
- front triangle could be more fragile on MBX6e (hard impact)
- Lipo tray is smaller
- Center of gravity is less balanced (more weight on lipo side)

No difference
- existing users feedback, great enthusiasm and respect on both side
- price (buggy and spare parts)

Just need to wait the availability of the new radio and the delivery at home

Thank you again for sharing your experience
