Default Burning Glow Plugs..why?

Tonight for some reason I had alot of problems starting my car, it appears I have blown about 4 plugs tonight before I even got the car started?

What could be happening here, the plugs ranged from 6-8 and I finally got to run one tank with the 8 and then that was it?

What are you using to ignite your plugs. You might be putting to many volts to the plug and they melt.

Sounds like way too much voltage. should be using 1.5 ish. Or, 1 single cell battery, such as a size C or D or some guys have even use AA or if they are desperate, AAA
