We need alot more information in order to help you. Your motor, battery, tires, and what you plan to do with the truck all should be factors in choosing gearing.

the motor is a team orion vortex 13.5 turn with a 60A ezrun esc. the tires are stock and going to run a 3s 5000mah 20c lipo battery. just going to use for bashing. would like it to be fast but not strip out all the time

Assuming it has the larger wheels and tires and not the old 2.2 wheels, I would start with something about 20/86-pinion/spur. I dont remember the stock spur size, so if yours is different you can adjust the pinion a tooth or two to get the ratio as close as possible, but as long as you keep an eye on the temps you can vary the ratio. This is for 48p gears, if you decide to run 32p then simply divide the spur by pinion to get the ratio and go with the same ratio for 32p. Personally I believe that if you set the gear mesh and the slipper correctly there is no need for 32p, but some like it because it is more forgiving if it is off just a little.
