Anybody notice the price of kits and parts has jumped up on their site lately? It's getting close to costing the same as Kyosho stuff on their site even though quality has decreased

I have noticed this as well. I have a guess to what it could be. Great Plains now has exclusive Team Associated rights. So when you don't have other distributers selling the same product, you can charge more for it because you are the only one they can get it from. I am not saying this is for sure the reason for the price increase. Just a guess to what it could be.

EDIT: Made a Mistake. Team Associated is only eliminated from Horizon Hobby. Not HRP and other distributers.

Add in that this could push people over to Tower to use the savers club discount just to get the same price they could at A-Main. I'm not a fan of AE being sold only under the GP umbrella...

I have noticed the prices creeping up since this has happened as well as a difference in the discount being less through distributors that can still get AE products

I just bought a factory team sc10 last friday for $239.99 and now it's $259.99 on their site........

I remember when i worked at a hobby shop the majority of the rc car stuff was purchased through Horizon as we would get better deals. There were a few things that you could save on through GP car wise but the main ordering through GP was planes.

A-Main has been getting a lot of flack for not abiding by MAP pricing. Those prices you are seeing are MAP

Every otter little hop has to go by them or they lose the ability to sell it. Small shops finally got tired of seeing AMain do what they want

AE doesn't have required MAP pricing for its products - generally the only MAP pricing you see is from dealer-owned brands such as Duratrax, Losi, etc.

They do have MAP on kits now. Believe me, I run PremiereHobbies and HRP has made it perfectly clear there is MAP pricing

Sorry your incorrect. Ae is not exclusive to gp. Hrp,eri and im sure others are still pimping ae. There is no price stability anymore. Pricies have been going up and down like crazy lately.

MAP = Minimum Advertised Price. Basically means you can't advertise selling a product below a certain amount. It's doesn't stand for Mandatory Advertised Price because you can advertise the price however high you want it as long as it's above MAP. But you can also sell it below this price as well. If a person comes into a store, you can sell it at what ever price you want. MAP only effects your advertising price.
