I LOVE going to the track and seeing some crazy expensive kit getting whooped by a Slash!! Cause it shows that 90% of it is just flat out all driver!!

+1 to everyone who has competitive Slash! I love 'em!!

I am not bashing Traxxas, I think they make a quality product but I've just never known them to be this race worthy that these are "whooping" 8th scale buggies.
I found this interesting and posted it in another forum, it's the results from April 2010 at the RC Madness short course nationals (230 entries).

The Slash 4x4 finished 4th, 6th, and 10th. Mike Battaila got 4th behind Jeremy Kortz, Chad Bradley, and Tim Bump. And in a field where everyone was running 550's he ran the velineon. I bet all the Ofna's that finished behind Battaila thought the Slash 4x4 was competitive.

This is just like the revo a few years ago; everyone started putting different tires and lowering it and asking if it could compete with truggies. End result is well known: Yes, driver ability is the determining factor, but given close to equal drivers, a truggy will walk all over a revo, and a buggy will walk all over a slash.

It is great that people love rc stuff, and it is great you all have so much fun with what you have. Be realistic though, just because you can make your slash look like a buggy does not mean it will handle like one.
