What motor should I stuff in my slash?

:tire:Hey there Ive got a slash 4x4 and im wanting to upgrade the motor. All my friends have the mamba max pro 4600kv but I was wondering what are some other well built motors for speed and reliability?.:tire:

Thanks

I used the MMP and a castle 5700. It ran hot but man it smokes anything else. I just upgraded it to a Tekin 550 4.5. The 550 motors seem to be the hot ticket for the 1/10 sc 4x4 trucks. I just have to figure out how to gear it now.

The 550 motors are very popular and seem to work great, Tekin and Novak are the first few that come to mind. Also check out Castle's new 1406 series motors. They are 4 pole motors that produce ALOT more torque, so they are better for SC trucks and they come in the same KV ratings so you can just tell your buddies that you got the 4600 too:sneaky:

Just in case you have not seen this, just punch in your specs and find out what gearing would do what. If you liked the speed of the 5700 then put in the setup you ran with that and see what the top speed was, then try to match your new setup to it. The 550 will easily pull more gear if you need it.

We suggest this compatible system for the Slash 4x4; it is built with a Traxxas battery connector and comes with the esc installation plate:
