I don't know what car you're running, but do yourself a favor and look into Leopard motors matched with the Hobbywing ESC. I run a 1900kv 4060 in my hyper 9e and it is extremely fast and efficient. Total cost shipped was about $68 and the quality was awesome. It makes for a great combo that is lighter than just about any 1/8th scale motor.

I think the only rear benefit to the Tekin/Castle MMP systems is the weight, and that not enough to justify double the price. Just my .02.

The one on the right, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...n=116645#swarm looks like a rebranded Hobbywing, but is probably an older version if it is, and has pretty good reviews on HK. The one on the left doesn't have much of a following.
It's not rebranded hobbywing.

Dan at Kershaw designs is great to deal with. Wished he carried the full line of Hobbywing and Leopard stuff though.

Another possibly noob question is what is the advantage of the higher amp ESC's, are they just able to handle more cells?
Do you plan on running sensored or sensorless ?

I have used a 6.5t Xerun 120a and a 60amp 8.5t ezrun in my Thunder Tiger Sparrowhawk XT. Both worked great and had cool temps.

I'm testing a Xerun 120A for my 4WD 1/10th and compared to my previous Novak and Sped Passion, it is really really good, and my wallet feels much much better.

Which makes me want to test their motor as well, anybody had good or bad experience to share with these, or is it just as good as their ESC compared with "big brands" ?

Their 1:10 sensored motors are great! The 1/8 motors are even better!

For 1/8 buggy, don't you think 2250 is a bit much, wanna try their stuff but in lower kv motor. Maybe 1900kv with the 80a and 4s battery. Want something controllable, not crazy power
Anyone else tried the leopard?

What is the difference between the xerun and ezrun line? Is it just black vs blue?

Only Hobbywing knows for sure. From what I can see, there is no duplication between the xerun and the ezrun series. The SC8 is the only one that looks like that and the only one with those specs.

Nice weight on it too. I take back what I said about Tekin and Castle(MMP) having a weight advantage. Now, I can see no reason to spend more money on the Tekin and Castle systems.

Gear it lower bro. Leopard is unsensored. In fact 2250kv motor is smooth less torquey than 2000kv 4274 motor
