Default Castle Creations Sidewinder V2

My Sidewinder went out last week, so I sent it off for repair. It was beyond repair so they replaced it.

I was tracking it online and saw that it was delivered today. But much to my surprise, they sent me a Sidewinder V2. I don't even see it on the web page yet.

The heat sink matches my Sidewinder SCT so maybe they are equivalent. Side by side they look the same.

I did read this thread a few weeks back with reference to the V2

It is going into my B4 for this weekend, can't wait to give it a try. I am curious to the ratings though. On the side is is listed as "3S LIPO - 8 NICELL - 15V Max"

Is there a sensor port on this new one?

Yes, I think it's the same as the Sidewinder SCT. As time goes on and components become better and cheaper Castle has a tendency to update their designs like that, which is nice.

I hooked it up to my Castle Link and it has the same options as the SCT, I still haven't tried torque control yet but it is available.

This v2 speedo is the same thing as the SCT esc.

It has about the same amp ratings as the old mamba max. Improved capacity over the old SCT system.

I used the sidewinder to run a mamba monster 2560 motor in my hyper 10sc

Worked great too! Of course I did have a fan on the ESC

I just ordered one with a 6900kv from Tower, $99 inc free shipping. Will be here tomorrow, the guys at Castle said it's much better than the original Sidewinder. I have the original in my son's SC10 and it's been good so far. It's going in an OFNA JL10e, should be a rocketship for short $$$.

Glad to see more information it coming available. Ran it indoors this weekend in my B4 with the Velineon 10.5 and it did great. I kept having to gear it up to get more speed but ended up at 20/78. No temp issues at all. I know the buggy is light but the temps never got above 100F.
