Default Building a Xray 808e with Mamba Max Pro and have questions

I am getting ready to build a 808e, I will be running the car on 4s. I have a mamba max pro esc to install but wondering what motor would be the best to match up with this esc. Do U I need to install a fan on the ESC or Motor. What gearing for a medium to large track? Are there any special mods that help make the car handle better?

I posted in the MMP thread but got mostly BS for answers.

Thanks

Mike

I would suggest the CC 2200kv or a Tekin of similar KV. I would start with a 15 tooth pinion. The motor has plenty of power for the big tracks and will run nice and cool.

I run the MMP with Tekin 1900kv in my 808. PLENTY of power for any application. Gear 15 to 17 depending on the track. No need to add fans. Just make sure the fan on the esc is working or you will thermal.

I'm running a 2200kv motor in my xb8ec buggy. The older ec buggy is a bit heavier than the 808 so that's why I decided on the 2200 motor. I do agree that the motor has more power than needed and definitely runs nice and cool, but in my personal opinion it's still too much motor for a buggy. I'd start out with a 1900kv motor in the 808 if it was me.
