The Field Link works as a Castle Link. But you can adjust settings without a computer and through the Field Link as well. So you don't have to haul around a computer to change some settings. So go with the Feild Link.

For transponders they are pricey. Go with the Mylaps setup. Here is a link:

go to http://www.hobbymasters.com they have transponders that are around $70 bucks, the are smaller and you can rotate the transponder number if you needed to . they work on all systems, they are AMBrc. I use three of them. at an average of 15-30 dollars cheaper than the comperable ones that's almost a whole nother transponder for the savings. FYI.

Hey Joe....as for the transponder, you may want to wait to shell out the $70 to $90 bones on a AMBrc compliant transponder until after you stop by your local track to make sure they use an AMB system. It would suck to shell out nearly a hundred bucks when what you really need is a $35 iLap transponder.

The Field link can't do any of the custom programs like braking. There are other setting you can't do without connecting to the PC. I think the Castle Link would be better if you're only going to have one, it lets you to do everything.

Field Link works as the adapter on the Castle Link. You can hook an ESC on the computer with Field Link. So if they are the same price for him why would you limit yourself just to a computer.
