Default Ball cups keep on coming off

Any easy fix for this? or any cup/ball recommendation?

Someone mentioned plumber tape to make the cups harder to come off the ball.

You can try pinching the ball cup together with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Are you replacing them? Common rule of thumb is once they pop off in a wreck the first time, it'll be even easier for them to pop off the next time (and so on and so on)

Definitely true that once they pop once, it will happen more and more often. I usually replace them after the 2nd time at most if I don't have spares to replace after the first time.

I've been heavily considering going with the closed rod ends. I'm sure there is a tech name for them but the same style Traxxas uses on their turnbuckles. I know Dubro makes them for different cars. The Kyosho ones I looked at were like $4.50 for 2 of them I think. Times that by 6 rods + new screws for each and that's why I'm holding off.

What are the conditions of yours coming off? Car, track type, etc. Is it bad landings or just weak cups?

I'm assumeing it's a little 1/10th scale car?

Rpm ball cups are much stiffer and will hold on alot longer. But you have to thead the tie rod in and out a few times before it loosens up. Otherwise its too stiff and pops when u adjust your turnbuckles.

If it's 1/8th scale: Upgrade to Xray rod ends and balls.

The Losi Xtra Ridgid ball cups are the best IMHO.

Ball cups are a wearable part and should be replaced when necessary.

I put a piece of plastic like from a ziplock bag on the ball and snapped the turnbuckle on. They haven't popped off since.

How are your old/worn are your ball studs? When I replace caps, I like to replace the stud as well. Sometimes overkill, but I like to be sure.
