I always had good luck with the GTB and 13.5 motor and ESC setup.

Default Whats your Budget?

You could buy a Ezrun 60A and Tacon motor for about $65

http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m23-car-3650-3930.html
I have this same set up in my Stampede and my neighbor has had this set up for months and its still running hard!
Or you could spend a little more with the same result. $125-$150 for a Traxxas VXL or Castle Sidewinder.

Or spend about $250-$300 for the mentioned Tekin and Murffdog. Im shurw the set up rips!
Keep in mind theres little customer support with the cheaper set up. But you'll never need it. Traxxas, Tekin, etc has great customer support.
Theres also Novak which is very good.

I guess it depens what you can afford

And a very fast and reliable power plant. You have a point when it comes to bashing only

While I agree with this set up ( I run it) This is definatly a race package lol! Would definatly be fast enough, but not to price friendly.
