Very impressive, well done ! 3kg a 8th brushless, you have 200g for some stronger parts (perhaps shock tower and shock absorbers?)

(HT : Salut Pulse!)

If you look under the new items section on the Losi site, you will find a host of new aftermarket items for the TENT/810 line of vehicles.

The 810 is NOT denoted as an RTR 8ight...it is denoted as an RTR 8th scale vehicle that gets its heritage from the 8ight.

Looks great though guys.

Please email me if you are interested in this conversion, I am only making a very limited number... (If you already emailed me then I already have you on the reserve list, please do not email again..)

Here is the Ten-X motor mount..
If using this on stock chassis then you will need to raise it by 2.5mm so the spur can clear the chassis.. My Ten-X chassis has a relief for the spur so it will be a direct install

This is the center diff top plate..

Here is the rear aluminum 7075 extended drive cup, o-ring snaps into the groove to keep pin in place..weighs the same as stock drive cup 1/8 oz

this is the Ten-X Aluminum battery tray, weighs only 3.7 oz

Here is the Ten-X extended 7075 chassis, weighs the same as stock chassis..

Ten-X SC, this is what your SC conversion will look like with the Nerf support & traxxas nerf bars (traxxas nerf bars sold separately)

Ladies & Gentleman I present to you 810-X Now this is what your 810 will look like true 1/8 scale (Tekno mud guards are sold separately)

I will have more updates in a few days... please post your comments
Man, your parts are absolutely gorgeous. Makes me not want to get my car dirty.

Hope we can get them in this week. Losi has some nice race upgrades coming out... suspension holders, carbon fiber shock towers, alum shock caps, etc. May get some weight savings from those parts too.

I think this car just might be a winner.

Can't wait to finish building it.

Still light for a 1/8 buggy but not the sub 6lb I was hoping for. With a battery good for 10 minute main could probably get it down closer to 6lb. The pack weighs 500+ grams.

Looks great man. See ya at Raceworld next sat?

It is too bad the losi 8 conversion kit wouldn't drop in.. you would think it would be a touch lighter as well if it would fit.

I would move the ESC to the top of the center diff mount - cut that excess weight off the back of the battery tray iMO. You could also get a smaller 4 pole motor and reduce weight even more but you would have to give up your sensors and go sensorless. That would reduce weight and increase effeciency as those novaks are aweful, very ineffecient... I guess going w/ one of the newer tekin SC motors would be in the middle, I think they are more effecient, but not as much as dropping to a 4pole sensorless smaller can.

Well done on the conversion .. I too cant understand why the Losi kit doesnt fit.. I think Losi did themselves out a little from that.

I cant get over how much lighter it is .. even compared to the 8 2.0e

The car is a bit narrower and shorter than a standard 8ight, so their conversion won't fit. At iHobby, one of the Losi engineers told me they are coming out with an electric conversion kit for it early next year.

I think the Castle 1410 SC motor would work well if we can get it down to around 6.25lbs or less. Castle says max vehicle weight of 6.5lbs for that motor.

Your pic of the 810 electric conversion is 6lbs and 3/4oz.
With a 1410/1Y that weighs 228grams vs a Tekin that weighs 338grams that's 110grams right there which is 3.88oz.
The batt weight can stay the same and your already under 6lbs. which a lot of 2s 5000 weigh the same as your lipo in the pic.
And for the hardcore LunsfordRacing rods and screws with custom fiber chassis.
I don't see running this platform on 2s as a problem except maybe being too light IMO.

So Edumakated, how does this conversion compare to your HHH VE8? You still going to run it?

Totally different car than the ve8. I don't think you can really compare the two. The ve8 is quite a bit heavier. I found the ve8 to be a very neutral driving car. Could have been my setup, but I never was able to get it drive like I wanted. I prefer more aggressive cars.

I haven't driven the Losi yet, but my guess is that it will feel a lot more nimble on the track compared to a typical 1/8. We will soon see.
