You might want to run the rs pro in something like that. We run the rs 13.5 in my sons 4x4 slash with no issues at all. The rs pro is rated for 5.5 and lower.

or be super safe , since I haven't seen 550 can ratings on esc's, and run the RX8

I see all brands of esc blowing up running the 550 cans in 4x4SC

I run tekin in all of my cars. The customer service is TOP NOTCH. The only products I have ever had any issues with were the early RX8's. They are now fixed and perfect. The RS/R pro line has been proven to have by far the lowest failure rate at my track where we get 100+ entries every club race. LRP's are good, but when you have a problem, good luck getting it repaired or replaced.

I've run both and both are TOPS. Out of the box, the LRP has a very nice feel. But the Tekins can be setup to feel very similar if thats what you're after.
Tekin has awesome CS, LRP is good too, but not quite as hassle free.
LRP has a nice heatsink that you can attach a fan to if need be. Tekin does not have this option.

So if you're like me and like to run stupid motors (4.5T) in off road 4WD, then it can be difficult to keep temps down on the Tekin.

If Tekin would add a proper heatsink on the the RSPro, it would be imho, the perfect esc..

I do like to be able to use reverse for practice. Thats why I need reverse because I need more practice. Therefore Tekin gets the vote from me.

I just switched over to tekin from lrp,I have yet to hit the track with it but with the 212 software it feels just as smooth as my lrp was and the brakes are perfect, the hot-wire set up is awesome,so many adjustments but it can be overwhelming at first.I'm running this in stock truck, just curious how much cooler the motor and esc will be compared to lrp?

I don't honestly know how you could compare LRP to a Tekin out of the box... The Tekin is no where as smooth as the LRP.

The Tekin takes some serious work on the laptop to be as smooth as the LRP.

I've owned both... I'm curious as to how many people that ride the Tekin train have actually owned an LRP esc...
