Here is AE SC10 Mid Motor Conversion pic

I did all the work to make AE SC10 Mid motor conversion.

That look's pretty good, ...... what was all needed to purchase to make it a mid-motor? Do you have any pics along the way maybe a right-up. I would give that a try for sure.

That's awesome, Rusty! Looks great!

Did you just spin the rear clip to face forward instead of rearward? If so, the motor spins the srong direction for proper weight transfer. You need to add a counter gear between the pinion and spur to correct.

Or reverse the motor's rotation.

radio

I thought that spektrum dx2s radio have access the reverse function.

Actually reversing the motor will make the vehicle travel the correct direction, but inertia will be going the wrong way for proper weight transfer under acceleration.

Thats why all of the mid motor conversion kits have 4 gear transmissions...

I'm not saying it wont work, just not as well. I'm not trying to put your work down, just letting you know what else might be needed. :D

Below is a pic of my LMX losi mid motor conversion and you can see the external counter gear to get the motor spinning the right way. The X-Factory kits and Schumacher Cougar SV use the 4th gear inside the transmission.

I think what TRX is getting at, is the physical centrifugal force of the motor spinning is reversed. Instead of that force applying weight, it may be reducing the applied weight. Hold a motor in your hand and give it power - it's going to want to twist one direction. You reverse the motor it's twisting in the opposite direction which may lead to a difference in traction. Granted the centrifugal force generated by the motor is nowhere near what is generated by the tires spinning, it may still have an effect. Yes, you can just switch two wires on the motor, or change your radio settings, but in essence, the forces on the chassis are still opposite from factory.

edit: what he said - beat me to it

It works. :) with LRP SPX Super Reverse #80400.

What is the benefit of having a mid-motor car?
