Default LIPO CUTOFF FAILED!!!

I guess my lipo cutoff was set and now when I go to balance/charge my lipo in says "low voltage" and won't let me go any further.

Anyone have a trick to bring it back to life or do I have a really cool paperweight?? Thanks in advance.

Just regular charge it rather than balance charge

Find the cell that's below 3.0V and charge it via the balancer plug until it's the same of the other cells. Don't charge more than 0.5C through the balancer plug tho.

If all cells are under 3V, then charge it's on Nimh mode until the cells are above 3.0V. Then switch to lipo mode.

thats nuts, I never heard of any lipos being brought back to life. I know that the old nimhs could be, and have dont it a few times, but never did lipos thanks for the tip.

If you do as the others suggest, do it close to a door where you can huck the pack outside after it catches fire.

If you have another lipo make a connector so you pos to pos and neg to neg and what will happen is the low voltage cell will pull voltage from a higher cell.
Only take about 10 to 15 seconds and then you should be able to use your charger.

If you try charging it do it at the lowest possible settting for nimh on your charger and keep an eye on it. Once you are up to six volts switch to lipo and balance charge it watching the whole time.

As said. Charge at .5 amps on nimh setting let it go for awhile till vole goes up then switch over to balance charge. It will take a LONG time to balance out but should be fine. Fair warning though. While doing this can bring back to life a dead lipo, you WILL be shortening it's effective life. But better than garbage.

I wouldn't recommend dong this unless you have resistors in between the batteries. You can get a 1 ohm 5W from Radio Shack. Put it in between the two positive leads. Without it you could have some serious current running between the batteries.

Figure 1.3V difference between each cell. You might have 10 milli-Ohms of resistance. That'd give you 130amps of current.

I put it on the NiMh setting and charged at 5.0 amp until it stopped (about 20 sec) I then flipped it over to Lipo and it charged/balanced without a hitch. Nice trick to learn and I hope I never have to use it again.

I got your point but you don't see anyone do that when they make a Y-harness. For example when take two 5000mah 2s lipos and combine them to make one 10000mah 2s lipo?

It's just a y-harness without the plug for the esc.

If it's only 1 cell that's under 3.0V you can find it on the balanceplug with a multimeter and charge it until it's the same as others.

Btw, put your LVC a bit higher now ;-)
