Most of the guys run a 8.5,9.5,10.5 anything faster than that would be waaaay to fast. 8.5 is really fast in a truck imagine it in a buggy. Novak and tekin are good brands. I don't know anything about duo2 motors.

I have heard they are good, never tried one so I cant say--but for mod-I usually run 9.5, maybe 8.5 if there is a big straight or the track like an oval...mod is a handful at times in a 2wd buggy--pick a motor that is smooth, and it will be plenty fast...

+1, comm drops, all those different brushes, glad thats over with. 8.5-7.5 is about as fast as you will get away with and still be able to drive.

There at WC its just hard to see them cause there very fast.... plus if you dont have a gold motor in your car you usually wont get any shout outs on what motor your running.

my Murfdogg 8.5 would wheelie 3/4 down the straight at WC and it came off the track after qualifier at 111 degree's. 10.5 not as much of a wheelie but was very strong and came off the track at 115 degree's for the second quali.

good times

wstuart,
I recently purchased and ran many of the top brand motors with both LRP V2 series and Tekin ESC's, to determine the best combination for performance, tunability and factory support. Yes, I spent ALOT of money and time to figure this out and wouldn't recommend it, lol! I confidently settled on the Tekin ESC (RS Pro) and the Murfdogg Synergy Motors, www.murfdogg.com, which easily stood out as the top level performers and unsurpassed support from their Company's. I will say that the Murfdogg Synergy Motors perform amazingly well boosted or non boosted and you will not be dissapointed. Hope this assists you in your future decisions and gets you out racing soon!

I will second that. We consistently have people stopping us at the track asking what kind of motors we are running because they truly do stand out above the rest.

Thanks for all the tips guys. i am surprised I have never heard of those murfdogg motors but they look legit.

Becasue I only have time to race once every 2 months Im kind of a budget racer right now. Ive been wanting to get an RS Pro, but my MMP and my ghetto duo2 17.5 have been fast enough to get me few wins so I havnt really wanted to spend the money. When I decide to go to the next level I will definitely get a murffdogg motor though.

I was gonna give mod buggy a try just because it looks like so much fun. Ill probably go with 10.5 and see if I can pick up a used tekin or something.

7.5 in a 2wd is fast thou, be prepared. Some really good drivers
can drive one with a 5.5 but I cant, way overkill.
That's kinda like driving a ford mustang with a lamborgini engine. lol
