Default b4.1 brushless rtr?

Was looking around at a few electric vehicles and came across the brushless edition. For under 230$ is it worth it to get the brushless edition or just go with the FT edition.

For the money I cant see why it wouldnt be worth it.

How is the XP ESC thats included with the vehicle?

the rtr bl system is a cheap non sensored system.

if you race pass on the rtr and get the ft.

I race with it and it has been great. I have only upgraded to titanium turnbuckles. I would definitely recommend it for someone just getting into rc stuff. The brushless system is good too. I keep up with the modified guys easily.

I agree the brushless system is pretty decent and great overall for people just getting into it but keeping up with Mod motors is not real likely unless the track is miniature or they just really suck. I think the 3300kv motor that they come with is a little optimistic and underpowered but again, for the money it's pretty darn good.

Well i mean speed-wise. I race on a decent sized indoor track.

a friend of mine who wanted to get into the hobby quick and not too expensive got one, its a nice setup for a beginner, though i think the radio is subpar, u cant drive a straight line with it, and the turnbuckles need immediate replacement. esc/motor give decent speed for a indoor track and let u learn handling, and though not sensored its smooth enough.
if u have a radio and esc just get the ft.

i bought the b4.1 RTR brushless and i'm glad i went that route. as things break, i replace them with FT parts. it's a win win situation for me. i fried the stock esc cuz it got wet, and they're still gonna replace it under warranty, but i got a MMP and novak ballistic 17.5 for it so it's just gonna get sold. the RTR brushless is a great starting point IMO. i'd say consider upgrading the turnbuckles to titanium and the ball cups to RPM. the stock RTR turnbuckles and ball cups are very weak

Associated ball cups are indeed a weak point. Probably the worst in the business. If you can find them forgo the RPM ball cups and get a set of Gunmetal Kyosho ball cups. Stronger then RPM, and they look a hell of alot better.

Bought the RTR T4.1 a couple of months ago. Good rig for the most part. Just starting out so I will upgrade as I go. Needs tires and servo ASAP. Only bad part is that I hear of several ESCs going out including mine. They have great support and had a new one to me in 3 or 4 days, but just be aware.

i forgot to mention my servo went bad as well as a guy i know had his go out too. i picked up a futaba S3305 servo for mine, just a cheap metal gear servo that works pretty well. it's not super fast, but it's definitely an upgrade from stock for when/if yours goes out. i know they'll replace it under warranty though.

If budget is the issue, I would rather get the FT and find a brushed setup. You can get an FM radio and RX, brushed esc, and a good brushed motor for under $80 easy. Upgrade electronics as you go.

I race my b4.1 brushless all the time(tomorrow in fact), I love it, I upgraded the esc and motor recently though, I needed something with a little more juice, but the 3300 kv is great to start out with. for the money it's a great starting point, I'm upgrading as I go. the firsrt thing I do though is get better tires, the stockers are ok, but better rubber is a must if you're going to race it.

The first guy told me that I had to mail in and wait to get mailed back. Called the next day and spoke with a guy named Dan (I believe) and he shipped it out the next day with a return envelope.

Sorry your ESC fried but they seem to have pretty good support.
Good luck
