you guys are right, I'm doing it! I'm working on buying the 1/5 brushless setup by castle. I'm not sure if I'm going to put in my Lst2 or my stampede! log onto youtube and type in FLUX LIKE A PRO and then grab your popcorn cause thats what I'm talking about.

1717 looks like a serious motor. I would consider buying one for my next conversion.. Thanks for the vid!!

Default Extreemly Powerful Motor and Battery For 1/8th Scale Electric.

I use to run a 2650kv Castle Creations 1512 1Y Brushless Motor Powered By One 3cell 5000mah 40c Thunder Power Pro Race Series Hard Case LiPo and My Hyper 9E Was Completely Insane Fast. In fact, I would run one two cell LiPo and still pass 1/8th scale buggies running lower kv motors powered by a 4cell LiPo(on a medium size indoor clay track).

I now run a very small 1409 1Y 3600kv in my completely carbon fiber Hyper 9E and the buggy is insane fast on one 3cell LiPo and very driveable with one 2cell LiPo. I run the Momba Max Pro ESC With Built in BEC. This motor can handle a 4cell LiPo if 100+ MPH speeds were the goal. One day I will test the speed limit of this tiny motor and lightweight carbon fiber buggy.

For Truggy- a 2200kv(Truggy version[longer can]) Powered By Two 3cell LiPo batteries in series to create the voltage of one six cell LiPo- or run two six cell LiPo batteries plugged in parellel to create the voltage of one six cell LiPo with twice the run time.

I want to chime in here and shoot down all the negative comments people have about over powering a truggy. They say why, I say why not? Truggies are proven durable and proven performers so they make a perfect platform for extreme power and bashability. I run a Tekno converted Mugen mbx5t with a Castle 1518 geared 17/46, MMM esc and 5s 5000mah 25c lipo and I still crave more, thats why a 6s 30c 5000mah will be strapped into the beast shortly. It holds up fine and takes a beating better than any MT I've ever had. I got another mbx5t that I'm in the process of converting that will be running a Castle 1520 on 6s...it's all good!

I don't have enough posts here yet to link a vid of it running...

Exclamation

here this one will launch your car onto your house roof from a standing start.
http://www.leopardhobby.com/product/...ionID=01020202
5000watts , vs a 2600watt mamba monster.

it's not how much power you have, it's how much power you put to the pavement.

loading your car up with a bigger motor and bigger batteries will result in NOT being able to jump it without rebalancing the entire chassis (it WILL end up being lop-sided)

do you want horsepower or torque? you can't have both.

horsepower is top speed, torque is acceleration. you say you want to do backflips(torque) but want to do 65mph passes(horsepower)

the only way to have both is to ruin your car with a 1/5scale 8S system that will destroy any stock 1/8 scale parts attached to it.

you'll need high strength spring steel universal driveshafts and universal dog bones, they'll need to be taken apart and 'bullet proofed'.

you'll need to change any dif oils, you'll need spiral tooth diffs, steel gears all-round with no pitch smaller than mod 1.0 , 17mm hex's, solid dish rims with balanced tires. heavier shock oils as well as many other things that will eventually come up over time and things break.

i used to drive my rustler at 91mph.. now i drive it at 60mph, and there's a reason for that. (it has no original parts left.. and not by choice)

Cheers, eh!
phil.

I believe that torque is what I like the best. High speed runs are fun but pure, unadulterated,no holes barred,up the wazoo torque is what I like best because I'm a basher and always will be.... GAME OVER SON!!!!!!

People automatically assume that a 6S system is ridiculously overpowered, only meant for speed runs, standing backflips, etc. Yes, with a Castle 2200kv or 2650kv motor (or similar kv Tekin) it will be way too much even with lowest possible gearing. You can't put 6S in a vehicle setup with kv and gearing for 4S, and expect it to be reasonable. That's what people don't understand when they put 6S in their Savage Flux or Vorza or E-Revo without adjusting motor kv or gearing. (And HPI and Traxxas are notorious for encouraging unrealistic speeds)

To effectively and reasonably use a 6S setup a lower kv motor should be used, more like 1600kv, even 1400kv. The max rpm will be similar to a 2200kv setup on 4s, while being more efficient, which means cooler temps and longer runtime. The goal is to produce the same amount of power using a higher voltage, which in turn means less current draw.

If I had to set my vehicles up again today I'd definitely go 6S with a 1400-1600kv motor. The next time I'm due for replacing my buggy or truggy packs I probably will.

i ran 2 different 1521's in a 50 size heli not a good motor in my opinion. magnets came loose in both in under 20 flights. temps never went above 130F. bad motors.

i run a CC 2650kv, MMM, 1/8 scale and if you want something faster than that then you will need a rocket engine.

i would much rather bash a truggy than a monster truck, its tougher, there was a guy posting on here recently with a converted losi i believe running a mamba xl on 8s, and a big motor, i forget which. killer setup, tons of power and runtime, perfect for bashing

You get the most power out of the best efficiency......Neu, Plettenberg, Lehner, Hacker......quality motors ran within their respective limits will give the best results.
