Default Tekin capacitors and awg cables

Hi,

Are these capacitors useful in your opinion on a Tekin 1350 + ESC ?

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXZKV0&P=7

Have you tried it ?

In order to build up such a system ( 1350 Truggy motor + 6s 45C Hyperion on a Losi eight EU ) what is best between ESC and motor , 10 AWG cables or 12 AWG cables ?

Have you ever tried such motor with 6S on a buggy ?

Thanks a lot mates

I dont know about the caps as I dont use one on my RX8...but I use 12awg wire...IMO the 10AWG is not needed and only adds to more frustration when you attach it to the posts

I'm using high quality TQ 13awg cables in my buggy to save weight and they are awesome. They don't get hot or anything. I'm running the 1900kv tekin motor on 4s. A 6cell setup is less amp draw so 12/13awg shouldn't be a problem.

A good wire to consider is Deans Wet Noodle.

You can't really get much higher quality than that.

I have ran a low KV on 6s, it was fast w/ good run times. It was just hard to keep a good tune. I always had to change something at every track.
Personally I would run a 1700kv on 4s with a good tune one the ESC. You won't be disappointed. As for the cap's start at their 1500f , if your still having heat issue then give the big dog a try which is 2400f-2700f I believe.

I can't find them on A-main. I bought them in my local LHS in Belgium.
It's this cable that I'm using: http://www.tqracing.com/13%20gauge.htm

Very high flex and 1296 strands. They are very easy to solder.

EDIT: I found it on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/TQ-Racing-TQ1331...item5886c85275

The stock 12awg wire that comes with the Rx8 is more than sufficient for the system. It's pre tinned and high strand count flexible wire. There's a reason why it's in the box.

You should not heed the extra caps to be honest. Unless you're using lower quality/cheap batteries. If this is the case those are the caps you'll want to use.

I would never buy capacitors from a hobbyshop. They can be had for so much cheaper from electronics stores and Ebay.

Just make sure you get low ESR caps and they are rated to 105C

BTW guys, in which country Tekin resides ? I have a ESC to send to them from Europe but on the Tekin web site I only see a PO BOX without the country..... ?

Michigan ? Ontario ? Oklahoma ?

I will use a local postal service cause UPS and FED EX cheapest delivery prices from Europe are around 40-50 euros....not worth indeed.

That's the reason I would need the complete address with also the specific country and the postal code that it seems to miss within Tekin web site Service section.

Thx

Also you can send your service to Tekin Europe via RC Disco:
