Default Tamiya TT01 rally?

Hi,

anybody have feedback re the suitability of Tamiya's TT01 shaft driven chassis for Off-Road Rally use?

I have a TA03RS but I'm eyeing a TT01 since the 03 is belt drive and I doubt if teh 03 tub is robust enough.

Thanks.

I use a TB-01 for rally racing, and it's very good, albeit perhaps a little outdated. If Tamiya would release a real rally version of the TB-02, it could be a great rally car. The TB-02 Impreza is just an on road car with a rally body.

As for the TT-01, I couldn't recommend it. I'm not really qualified to comment, as I have never driven one, but it is clearly aimed at the absolute beginner, lacking the most basic things like oil dampers or adjustable toe and camber.

If you are looking for an affordable rally car, I recommend the TB-01 or the Kyosho PureTen Alpha 3.

The response this question got is really amazing Just one reply!!!

Anyway, Bandini Thanks. I've been doing some Googleing. The kit is unsuitable mainly because of the numerous plastic parts that could break easily like the prop shaft and dogbones alone.

I'll be looking for a TL01 instead.

The TL-01 comes with friction dampers and fixed toe and camber too. You can (and should) get oil dampers and turnbuckles as hop-ups, but more than that, you should at least consider the TB-01.

Yeah... I agree the TB01 is more suitable. Trouble is, everybody who has one also thinks the same. And I'm not going to shell out money for a brand new one only to have it battered.

Here are some shots of the track where the poor kit is goint to run.
