Default Help needed - rc10t3 diff issues

So I received a t3 roller just last week that's been giving me some diff issues. The diff bolt seems to keep backing itself out regardless of how tight I make it even after I disassembled the diff, and cleaned/re-lubed everything. Upon tearing the diff down again to install an AE diff rebuild kit I realized that the original 6 ball bearings for the diff bolt That sit on the "passengers side" outdrive won't budge at all let alone fall out. This is probably the problem I'm having.

With the long intro complete, has anyone had this problem and if so can you give me some advice on how to get those out. The "jam a tiny screwdriver in there" idea hasn't been successful.

Thanks everyone!

Are you talking about the thrust bearings?

They're the ones on this instruction sheet that sit around the diff screw.

Honestly, a diff outdrive isn't all that expensive, and should be in stock at your LHS since the T2, GT, T3, and T4, B3 and B4 all use the same outdrives. It'd be a hell of a lot easier than trying to chisel that sucker out, and potentially damaging the outdrive anyway.

Is the diff apart and the outdrive its own entity now? If so go in on the "inside" of the outdrive that faces toward the gear/bearing and try tapping it out that way with a small allen wrench.

Thrust bearings, yup that's them.

Kinda tough to get a hold if them the otherway. Well I guess before I spend 7 dollars to ship a 2 dollar part I'll try as much as I can from home, heh.
Do you think soaking it in gasoline or similar liquid would hurt anything? I might be able to loosen some old grit and grim stuck in there that way.

Hey, can't hurt, right? Give it a shot.

Do you have a local hobby shop? If so, give 'em a call and ask if they've got the outdrive.

Just a quick note the B3,T3 out drives are diffrent than a B4 or T4 and you need a dealer that sells thunder tiger parts. because i don't think associated has the part number in stock but thunder tiger dose.

Really?

Strange...isn't the diff gear and the diff rings all the same parts though?

Do you know the actual differences in the diffs? Just curious. Good to file that info in the back o' the brain for future references.

The diff gear has 48 teeth on the B2/B3/T3 to get the 2.4:1 ratio vs 52 on the T2/B4/T4 (2.6:1), all top shafts have 20 teeth, so the outdrives and diff rings are a smaller diameter to fit in the gear.

B2 is the only one that was 2.40:1 if ThunderbirdJunkie recalls correctly.

At least right here the pile of B2 diff gear packages say "fits b2 tranny ONLY"

B2 & B3 are the same, B3 was just a B2 with longer suspension arms and some other minor bits.
It's probably an old header card from before the B3 came out which says B2 only to avoid having people with a T2 buying the wrong gear.

Exactly. Different P/Ns for the B2/B3/T3 diff gear than for the B4/T4/GT/SC10 gear.

Also, I believe Custom Works brand outdrives would work as they are identical to B2/B3/T3 ones. If the OP knows a hobby shop that can get custom works parts he could go that route as well.

B2 b3 and t3 have the same diff gear, i know lol i just replaced mine not too long ago. I have a ton of them, most of my diff gears just say b2 on them, but there are a handful that are marked b2/b3/t3.
