AE 4.1 Upgrade list?
#3
only thing worth time and $ on an older car is the slipper set, discs and springs.
the new style rear block is nice since it can old that zinc weight they sell and toe adjustment (though most never stray from 3deg anyway). and i use the old ASquat shims with the ID nubs on em. so not really worth the few bux if u dont want to.
rest is not effective use of scratch (fresh moulds of new shock towers and steering parts not withstanding, u'll go to those as your old parts break or tire).

I've upgraded the following parts a my b4 and the car is definately better.
ASC7475 - V2 .89 shock bodies - Front
ASC7479 - V2 1.18 shock bodies - Rear
ASC6443 - Bleeder Shock Caps
ASC7487 - New anti sqaut kit. - The kit has block s from 2.5* - 4.0*
ASC9568 - New front shock tower. - The ball stud mount is taller, about one washer thickness.
ASC9564 - New rear U brace. - The ball stud mount is taller, about one washer thickness.
ASC7488 - New weight Block - designed to fit perfectly infront of the trans case behind antisqaut mount.
ASC9730 - B44 rear hub carriers - The plastic ones with the big bearing. You'll need the larger bearings for the outside.
ASC7935 - Larger hub carrier bearings, one per side.
I plan on doing the slipper clutch, but not the aluminum rear hubs. You can get the rear toe from the antisqaut blocks. The aluminum hubs increase the unsprung weight and cost 5 times more, but they do have some more hole positioning options.
Hope this helps.

Yep same for me. So are the new v2 shocks really that much better. If they are why?? I am contemplating getting them for my X60, but don't want to drop 80 if it really isn't warranted. I am using Losi shocks now, which by all accounts should be as good as the v2. Any input??

I do understand that in most cases this isn't the most cost effective way to upgrade. However I happen to work at the LHS, and have a pretty large amount of store credit to burn. Since there is far more markup in the parts than there is in the kits, I can get more for my money this way. Especially since I'm looking to upgrade my B4, T4, B44, and maybe even my SC10.
BTW. Why wouldn't AE publish a list for the B4 and T4 like they did for the B44? Doesn't make much sense.
Thanks for the help guys!

There is also a thread for the T4 conversion, differences being the part numbers for shocks.
