Making Electronic Stay in Place

Making Electronic Stay in Place
Hello,
Was wondering what you guys use to hold your electronics in place. Initially I was using double sided tape, but this got kind of sloppy. When electronics would fall off, dirt and grit would stick to the tape and it didn't seem to peel of well for me.
Then I tried a hot glue gun. That worked ok depending on the surface your gluing. However, bashing with my T4, my Mamba Max Pro ESC became separated this weekend.
What do you guys use to hold your electronics in place? Any unusual ideas you have heard or tried in the past?
Thanks
Dorion

I use the MIP double sided stuff and although more expensive than 3M its is rock solid. When I can I usually run a zip tie over the piece if I can.

If I have the time to let it dry, I prefer to use Shoo Goo. It holds stuff in super well (better than any tape can), but can be easily removed when needed.
If don't have the time to wait for that to dry (over night), I like Parma's double sided silicone tape.

3M Molding tape 03609 works pretty well. Fancy name for double sided tape.
http://www.autogeek.net/3m-auto-tape.html
It's used on 1:1 cars for attaching accessories like fender flares, side skirts etc. Once both surfaces are clean and grease free it will hold for a really long time. If you even slightly touch the surface of the tape with your fingers the oils from your finger will stop it sitcking. It pulls off in one piece. There is not much padding with this tape so in a high vibration install it may not protect sensitive electronics.

Double Sided Sticky Tape- Industrial Strength From Home Dept.
I use the double sided Industrial Strength Sticky Tape sold at home depot for under 15.oo dollars for a very big roll which will last you many many years. I've been using this same roll and it's so big(about 7 inches in diameter) the roll seems to never get smaller no matter how much I use, and how much I give other racers to use when needed. It's never come unstuck. But I will say it's extreemly hard to remove from the buggies chassis and my Mamba Max Pro esc or Mamba Monster esc when I need to remove it. But I'm always able to remove it after lots of work. I've never experienced any double sided sticky tape this strong. But you must clean all surfaces with rubbing alcohol. Or equivalent. If you or anyone has any questions- feel free to send me a PM. I hope this helps.

I use velcro and tie wraps. The tie wrap has to be just tight enough to keep the velcro from completely coming apart yet allows the electronics to move a little bit. Super firm mounting methods (like glue and non-padded double sided tape) are rough on electronics. From 1/10th scale stuff, I have always just used velcro without the tie wraps. Never had a problem. You have to clean the surface before you stick it on just like double sided tape. Completely cover the bottom of whatever you are mounting with velcro and make its mating patch equally large or larger.

I have used all kinds, and the parma stuff is nice, but it gets squished easily and the sides stick making it a pain. I usually use the rc related double sided tape, and if there is a problem vehicle-then double it up using two pieces, but again, make sure all contact areas are clean and dry..
