I tried the 40c zippy though i find my turnigies 20c (all 5000mah) to have more punch, i have the same speed as the 4x4 mod buggies with 6.5 and those are using 45c and 60c batteries with my 20c turnigies and best of all, after cutoff the charge around 5200 mah.My reedies went bad pretty soon, wasnt happy with them. I like to have abundance of power with the tt, my lap times are much better with the 6.5 and this on a medium indoor track with a 70 foot straight. I dont have any comparison to the 550 cans, but i think i'm not alone believing the 6.5 being the best system in this truggy. Only the sound alone running down the straight makes alot of drivers go to the side, it sounds like a 1/8, with the sct this never happened.

edit: all on 2s of course, on 3s i'm sure the sct will scream.

I'm not sure where this thread is at but I would like to report back that I was ready to shit-can my TT but decided to try a little harder to make it work. Finally, I've started to get it to work and last night I TQ'd and tied the record for the fastest single lap around the track. Unfortunately we ran a 7 minute main and I was not consistent enough to hold it together for the win...too many mistakes. Keep in mind that I'm a mediocre driver at best. Anyway, I think it says a lot. I've been told that as soon as I start dominating 1/10 scale my TT is going to get banned. Considering that I've run 10 packs through it and have never actually practiced, only raced it, that's not bad. I'm happy.

PS: using the Castle Sidewinder SCT system.

Other than gaining more driving experience, what things made the TT more raceworthy? Were these adjustments, upgraded parts, or.....?

Mostly adjustments. The first thing I did was install the recommended ackerman bar (shorter I think?) and bearings in the steering. Then I took it to the track and raced it. It was terrible! The worst part was it was nose diving like there was 8 ounces of weight on the front bumper.

So, the next week I pm'd R2 and asked him how his was set up. After talking to him I replaced the springs with the Ofna Blue springs and changed the oil in the shocks per his recommendations. He said 25 front and 20 rear. I didn't have any 20 so I put 25 in all around. I went back to the track and it was handling better but something was not right....I had bent shock towers and some other damage from the last race that I neglected to notice. It was better but still not right....

This week I took the front end all apart, replaced the shock towers, set the droop, adjusted the shock collars and finally, last night, took it back to the track. I was able to run a practice pack through it and it felt pretty good. With everything correct and the suspension sorted out I was able to rail. I took it easy in the first heat and rolled some of the jumps and drove as to not crash or break anything. I finished in the middle of the pack but it was very easy to do. In the second heat I came alive, started to do the tripple, and was on the gas. Despite a couple of crashes I was able to make my way through the pack twice and nobody could catch me.... I TQ'd. In the main I went nuts and crashed a million times like a rookie but ran a couple of blistering laps, one of which was a track record (shared by 2 other people) but failed to secure the win. I'm confident that with some practice and a little more steering I could shave over a second off that #. I think the key thing that the TT allowed me to do is keep my average speed up. It also accelerates like nothing else on the track but that might be more of a function of the Castle 3800 (geared with a 15T pinion).

So you have the SCT system and it rips.....yet hoousi felt it was underpowered.

I'm thinking now that battery and setup are the keys no matter what motor/ESC you're running.

I've read about the spring mod, got them coming. Looks like TT should give my buggy and truggy a good run!

Default alright

Mine just showed up in the mail today. Is one of the first things I should do replace the grease in the diffs with fluid? Change the stock shock fluid to something more like 25 wt. Any help to get this thing to the track will be helpful. I am hoping to make my racing debut with it just after the first of the year. Putting in a mmp, 6.5t Murfdogg and a Futaba BLS351(if that's not to much servo for it). Oh yea and I plan to replace that gear with the STRC one right off the get go also.
