i had to cut off the ball thats on the original shock post up by that flange. use smaller screws to hold the post to the tower.had to use the stock screws that hold the slash shocks onto the tower and cut them down to fit.also take the ball ends out of the old shock and put them on the new shocks as the one's that are on the new shock's are to wide ti fit in the arms.i hope i didn't confuse everybody.....

I ordered one from NitroHouse today for my young boy for Xmas to replace his Slash 4x4 as there is talk about one or two tracks next year in our area.

I was thinking of transplanting the VXL from the Slash into this and selling the Slash as a roller. Good idea or do some of you think otherwise?

It'll work great. You can even use the Traxxas radio/receiver in it if it is the 2.4GHz radio (the older radio will work too, but you're gonna want 2.4GHz), but I would not reuse the Traxxas steering servo. Get a Hitec 985MG instead, or a 645MG if you are budget-conscious.

Default vxl in TT

I have a VXL system laying around that I was going to install in my TT, I have tried several ways to mount the esc but it is to big. I saw one guy mounted his ESC on it's side behind the motor. I am trying to stay away from installing it on top of the center diff. If anyone has any pic's of how they have theirs installed.

The VXL will be ok for general use...but if he is going to race he will need something better.

I am running a VXL in my Hyper Mini STe and it is smaller than the 10TT and I had to gear it pretty high (23P/42S-on 2S Lipo) to even be able to clear the double/triple at my local track....If he/you can run it on 3S it will be fine.

As for a servo, I just ordered this from my LHS...

I know the VXL with a 3S lipo is nuts in the Slash (when it doesnt cut out ) but I'm thinking I'll prolly stick to a 2S for the TT.

That being said, I might just sell the Slash 4x4 as complete and pick up a Sidewinder 4600Kv package as I would like to stick with Castle. They've been pretty good so far in the 2 other RC's and I'm very familiar with them.

The tracks that some are talking about will definitely not be sanctioned, more like a "hobby" track.

So I just ordered one of these bad boys today and am quite excited to get it! I have tried resisting getting one for the past few weeks and finally broke down haha.

Anyways, I will be running it at ARC in Temecula, WCRC, and OCRC. I will be running it with the Castle Sidewinder SCT combo on 2s Lipo only.

What should I start my gearing with pinion wise? I think the truck comes with a 13t correct? Is that 13t too small or too big with the Sidewinder SCT combo??

Any help would be appreciated!
