Just got myself a Mini Hyper ST which is supposed to be the same car but with a shorter main chassis.

Thinking about "converting" it to a Hyper TT and use a Traxxas Stampede body. Do i need anything other than the main chassis and center driveshafts?

ANything in general i should look over or upgrade?

Thanks in advance, Jonathan

Default Battery and pinion choice

Greetings,

My hyperTT is almost ready to roll. I've read a ton of this thread to try to figure out what kind of gearing and battery I should use. I am looking for a good balance of speed and torque (40mph-45mph or more). I have the Castle Mamba Max Race Pro SCT system with the 3800kv 4pole motor. I've seen people running 2s and 3s setups with that combo on this thread.

I'm thinking either 2s with 15-16t pinion or 3s with 11t pinion. Will be doing a mixture of light bashing and track time (medium sized).

For the 2s setup, I've read good reports but am worried I would but too much amp draw or strain on the battery or electronics and reduced runtime (Is this true?).

On the 3s, the gearing chart that's on Castle's site says 2s max. I also emailed them to check and the guy said that on 3s it would burn out the motor and void the warranty...

But I read reports all over the place of both configurations above working great with very good temps....

So... which way should I go here?

Cheers!:

I think you'd be okay with 2S and a 15t pinion, but I'm not really sure. I just got a new motor (Turnigy Trackstar 3900Kv) in mine as my old MM5700Kv motor (the original from like 5 years ago) died recently. I haven't tested it yet, but I'll report back when I do. I've got a 12T pinion (that's all I've got right now) and 2S batteries, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm not sure what it comes with stock, but it looks like people are using around 35-45 Wt oil in this thread. Maybe try 40 Wt oil and see how that works for you.

Hi guys, I'm David from Scotland, just got myself one of these wee beasts. I am a regular over on msuk forum, but thought I'd register on this forum too as this truck seems more popular on here.

Here it is:

Now I don't beat on mine that hard, but I actually haven't broken anything on it yet. I use mine mainly on tracks, and it has taken some hard hits. So far, so good. But if you're looking for something to get huge air with and beat the crap out of then you'd probably want to look at something from Traxxas or HPI.

These things look sweet, I might just have to get one for only $200! It's the kit already assembled or not?

Well finally got my Hyper 10TT build done and running. Its a great little truck! I put in a 3800kv 1410 Castle Motor with Mamba max Pro. Running a 5800mah 3s battery on a 11 tooth pinion. Awesome power and runtime, temps are just fine too! Got another set of tires and rims (stock ones are good but wanted another option). Also got a few option parts to strengthen it up a bit and some T-bone bumpers.

Cheers!
