How did you get a 41T spur?
You can try the 13t pinion and see how it does but that ESC runs hot any ways. I'd put the fan on and not worry about gearing. Do you have the fan?

It's probably a 42 tooth and I just miscounted the teeth

I'll try the fan on the ESC.

sounds like a good plan.
If you have the extra $ in the future, get the Mamba Max Pro esc. It is much smoother than the SideWinder with this motor. I am ordering 3s this week to try also... Then i need a new lid...

I'm at 14/42 with SW 3800/no fan, and the hottest I ever got was 130. That was from doing non stop speed runs for a whole 2s 5000 40c pack. On the track I never break 110. I'm gonna try 15/42 this week, looking for more top end. I was thinking of going up to the 4600 4 pole but I think I might just stay with the 3800.

some have had good luck and others not. I hit 160 geared 13/42. When i rebuilt the diffs and and put the fan on, never over 100. I am at 15/42 now with Blitz wheels..
I'm actually thinking about going to the Novak 550 can 4.5T motor.. I want more speed on 2s...

Have anyone run dog bones for front and rear? The stock CV in front always bend and wondering if the dog bone would be better option for front instead of always bending it back.

strc used to have good cvds..

shock wise i am running

front : 35w, white springs and single hole piston.
rear : 70w, orange springs, stock piston.

packs up the rear real good when jumping good rebound, doesnt squat that much on throttle.

on bumpy tracks hard pack tracks, car tracks well.

ESC: hobbywing xerun 60a..
Motor: hobbywing 4000kv
pinion: 15 going 14. for heat management.

Go with Novak.More torque, less weight (3s vs 2s) and cheaper batteries.

Dont know if you would consider a hobbywing setup?
I use the 2700kv 120a on 3s in mine and that outruns my brothers novak 4.5t 550..
It runs perfect with no heat problems and a 15t pinion

Depends on the skill and the driving style...
And the truck setup of course.

i bash it so using something for defined for small or technical track is not really needed.
