I broke yet another steering knuckle today (cracked at the bottom and ejected the pivot ball as usual). First time I ran the truck outside (without any indoor obstacles like poles) on my local track, air temp was low 50's.
Pretty disappointing.

Any aftermarket solutions out there yet (sorry if this has already been asked/posted) ?

I was planing on boiling a set to see if they last longer as I've heard that helps. Any pointers on how long I should boil em ?

Anybody tried one of the Leopard systems? It looks good based off the reviews but no TT's users posted...
What do you think about this one? http://www.hobbypartz.com/26p-blcomb...ProductReviews
I have a traxxas velineon now and I've been looking for a esc, but this combo seemd like it might be the ticket.

Ultimate RC did a video review of this system. Short story, motors are shit but esc's are good. But you're in luck, Hobbyking just released this esc under the Turnigy Trackstar name. And its 25 bucks. I wanted that esc for my TT but only Leopard had it and I wasnt going to buy the whole system. I went with HK's Quik 60 right before they release the Trackstar one, but oh well Im happy with it.

The leopard motors are only a 380 size motor in a 540 can...they do not have much torque at all especially for a 4wd.....get the Hobbywing combo from them for $79 and you would be much better off its a full size 540 motor....the Leopard ESC should be OK with the velineon motor on 2s or nimh....but I know the Hobbywing 60a esc is very good...I have had several.

I have a leopard in my daughters E firestorm...had to gear down which I planned on anyway for her.......reverse delay kinda sucks, it slowly ramps up power in reverse to help the drive train but is odd to get used to...but it has worked well for several months with no issues at all....but the motor is really only for lighter 2wd stuff.....the HK trackstar does look to be the exact same esc.

Thanks for that info, I was thinking 4x4 would be maybe a different story. All their HW stuff is out of stock though....

Boil them for 15 to 20 minutes it will do wonders for you.

What motor would you guys recommend to pair up with a MMP. I'm running 3s batteries.

I currently have a Novak HV-7.5 (3000kv) and its a bit on the slow side. I would like to stay with a sensored motor.

I'll get cooking tomorrow. Thankyou. My wife will be excited to see something different than old tires/rims bubbling in the kitchen

+1 - running with a 17T it felt slower than the Velineon (3500kv) with a 12T.
Before hunting for another motor I was going to try larger pinion and more timing as temps were only 130 after 10min main. What is/was your setup ?

on 3s my slash 4x4 with a 5.5 and 14t gearing gets around a 1/8 track no problem so maybe try a 5.5 or 6.5? if you get a ballistic you can buy multiple stators to change winds easily.

I was running a 16t pinion. Didn't really get a full test session on the track in as my MMP had some internal issues (seems 1 of the 3 motor phases is not working). While it was working it seemed like it was happy where it was at but one of the tracks I run at has a really long front straight. Just looked really slow.
