Anyone using th STRC center spur gear and have a problem with it leaking from the out-drive area on the face of the gear? its not leaking on the gasket side one bit. and the screw threads are dry so my only assumption is that its coming from the out-drive/bearing area. has anyone experienced this?

Heck...I'll let ya drive it if you are around this weekend.

Check out this thread http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...r-systems.html

Just ran it around the house a bit last night with the Tekin RS Pro, the Orion 6.5T (2008) spec2 to get a quick idea of speed. Will drop the viper in tonight with the same pinion set up and see how she acts. Like a banshee, I suspect.

I was gonna race Sunday, but SADT beckons.

Might try and make it up there Saturday to practice some instead.

I put gasket sealant on mine (automotive type) around the outer lip on the spur where it sits over the diff housing. I can tell it still leaks a bit since the diff is a little moist but there isn't any on the chassis anymore.

Would the Novak Havoc/10.5T 4200kV setup be good for this truck paired with a 2s 20C lipo? I'd just be bashing but I'm looking for something comparable in speed to a 19t brushed motor.

Default no

That's a 1s speed control in the posted link. I sure wouldn't go that direction.

A 10.5 is GREAT on a small indoor track. but that ESC you chose is a 1s which is a no no.

This one is good even comes with a fan

What do you guys think about running the First Generation Castle Sidewinder 5700 setup in this truck?

I am currently running it in my 1/10 scale stadium truck and its a Beast, WAAAY to much power.

Ive seen a couple guys talking about using it but never mentioning how it ran.3

If your going that route you might consider this one:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXAHWR&P=SM

As other have pointed out the one in your link is a 1S ESC - I use the Novak 6.5 in mine medium indoor track - lost of fun - I ran an LRP 9.5 for awhile it worked okay, used a 550 5.5 as well better - but I like the 540 6.5 the best

Think a few other guys might show as well.

Thanks for the warning about that ESC guys! I was waiting for the Castle Sidewinder SCT combo to come back in stock online...until I went to my LHS today and saw one sitting in the case for only $10 more! So I picked it up and can't wait to throw it in the truck.

The guy at the hobby shop said its been in the case since before Christmas, and yet they're selling like hotcakes online? He also said I can't use a 3S lipo with the ESC but that doesn't really bother me.

Questions?? Has this happened to you?

OK, so I went to go run my TT last weekend, after about half a pack run-time I ended up doing a spin out. Come to find out, a front upper hinge-pin had come out. From the parts remaining either the bushing failed or it may have not been assembled correctly...

Inexpensive fix, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of issue.
