So has anyone tried swapping over to the C hub front end off the Jammin?

I hate pillow ball front ends...

The MMP would be great but the 4.5, that would be overkill... I have a 6.5 in mine and its crazy fast! But I would like to see one with a 4.5 in it! I am sure it would be a rocket!

I have a Ballistic 4.5t 550 in mine, and yes it is rather fast, 13t pinion and it works really well, but it runs hot getting a heat sink for it

That doesn't sound right. I had a 6.5t 540 in mine and THAT ran hot so I switched over to the ballistic 4.5t with a 14t pinion and it comes off at 115 degrees after a 10 minute main. Buddy of mine is running the Tekin 4.5 sc4x and his is even cooler. Is your mesh too tight somewhere creating drag on the drivetrain? You should check into that imo...

the reason Im asking is because I ordered a hobbywing 120amp v2 to run with the ballistic 550 4.5T but its coming from Hong Kong. And with the Chinese New Year happening this might take a while to get So I was thinking of buying a MMP in the mean time or should I just wait it out? Ahhhh decisions and money!!

Some video of our A-main from the "Truck Off" trophy race this past Saturday at Glenwood RC near Buffalo, NY. We had down to a C-main, as Davo said previously quite a few breakages throughout the day (stub axles, knuckles, steering racks). Definitely can't drive these like 1/8 scale truggies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZIVsnO542U

Hopefully you will get to see mine at Emery this year and I can get to meet some fellow rc addicts. I am running the mmp in mine with Tekin sc4x 4.5 14 tooth pinion and I don't feel like its crazy fast yet. Ran it in Hutch a couple weeks ago and after 20 minutes it was only 86 degrees.

really? huh... well the gear mesh is fine, set it with the peice of paper method, and it rolls nicely, i can turn the pinion quite easly by hand or finger i should say, so i dont really know why its getting so hot I don't have a temp gun but i'm assuming if you cant hold your finger on the motor for longer then a second after a ten minute run then its probably too hot,

i had a 15t pinion on it before, changed to a 13t, but it gets to the same temp as the 15 did only slower

any other suggestions would help, i am running on carpet if that makes any difference.

i run a 4.5 tekin 15T and it comes off at 90.

on mine the piece of paper method gets the mesh too tight. so i fold it. you should be able to hold the spur and rock the pinion back and forth a lil

i would assume carpet would increase temp because of high grip.
