Default Question about Mamba 4600kV

Got a traxxas slash 4x4 with mamba 4600kV, running 2s and 3s lipos. My question is after a few minutes of heavy bashing the motor quits. I am thinking the battery may be below the voltage cut off, but I don't have a charger yet, as I just ordered one yesterday. When it stops the green and red are solid together. When I pull the throttle the green flashes fast and reverse flashes red fast. After a few seconds the yellow comes on again, signaling ready. Squeeze throttle and it takes off, for a few feet and then back to the solid green and red.

According to castles website low voltage cutoff is indicated by a flashing green and yellow when applying throttle.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Castle motors are extremely under powered for a 4x4 SC truck, they are much better suited to lighter touring cars or buggies. You are most likely experiencing thermal shutdown. You can try a smaller pinion gear, but you will probably be disappointed with the speed. Try a motor with a minimum of 36mm x 60mm for best performance.

It probably is thermal shut down. You should stop while you're ahead and get another motor.

Don't think it is thermal shutdown. I am now pretty sure it is battery. Just came back and tried 3 batteries and they all did the same thing. Motor is cool as it has been sitting for 4 hours. Squeezed trigger on all 3 batteries and truck went about 15 feet each before it shut off. I am just surprised the leds are different then what castle says on their website.

What is your Low-Voltage Cut-Off set to?

If you think it's the battery, leave it alone until you get a charge, or you may ruin it. If it isn't already.

It is set at the auto Lipo setting which cuts it off at 3v per cell.

Do you have a volt meter to check where the batts are at?

Duh, don't know why I didn't think of that. 6.4v on the 2s lipos and 9.4v on the 3s lipo, so I guess I answered the question. Thanks for the help. Bare with me a bit as I am new to this hobby.
