Depends on what u want to do. More turns= more torque. Less turns = higher speed. same with kv motors more kv= more speed. If you tell us what vehicle u are using we can sugest a good range of motors for what u want

Go brushless! Velineon isn't a bad starting choice. ESC has lipo lvc builtin so you can run lipo if you want.

A 13.5 w/ a high torque rotor and a Tekin rs esc ... you will have plenty of run time and all the power you need to race or bash.

I also recomend you get the velion system. bolts right in and for racin it is all you will need. If you want more power just drop a 3cell lipo in it. I run a SC10 with a castle sidewinder 5700 in it and my cuz with a 3 cell can keep up with me when we do speed runs.

Oh ya and the speed controller that comes with it can aslo run sensored motors. little known fact of that speed controller so you can always get a different motor

We make Plug 'n Play systems for the Slash 2WD; they have the Traxxas battery plug and plug-in motor wires:

Traxxas Slash Plug 'n Play

Our Ballistic motors are completely rebuildable; with the installation of a different wound stator, you have 2 motors in one.
