Most of us probably still have one of these Traxxas Slash 2WD sitting on the shelf some where even though we might have moved on to a Blitz, SC10 or a Kyosho. But I always thought the Slash was very easy to drive, durable, and just need a few thing (mainly a LCG chassis) for it to be competitive again. So.....
We are currently in the testing/prototype stages of this simple, economical LCG conversion kit for your Traxxas Slash 2WD. I've researched quite a bit on the LCG chassis that are out there for the Slash 2WD and every one of them have cut their own chassis out of aluminum, graphite, or fiberglass. The chances for error is too great with trying to get all the holes right by cutting your own chassis using the above mentioned material. And why do that when Traxxas has already made a chassis for you (the Rustler chassis)? We have extended the rear part of the chassis to the proper wheel base, just like all the other major manufacture have done (AE, Kyosho, HPI...etc.) and CNC machined mounts for the front bumper...and you have a LCG Traxxas Slash 2WD chassis using an existing original Traxxas chassis.
I will post more information along as we test the truck next week with the conversion kit installed. I should have more information on pricing soon as well. enjoy the pic!

So if I have a Slash, say its bone stock, other than a Rusty frame and the STRC kit will the conversion need anything?

There is a new to the sport racer here in Fl.that took his rustler and lenghtened the chassis and uses sc rims/tires,he is in the top 3-4 most of the time against blitz ,assoc etc.it is not fancy, just works very well!!
I have a guy at my track that has been running an extended rustler chassis just like your pictures all year.. he seems VERY competative with it. He is using the pro-line upgrade parts as well.. it's way better than a standard slash.
And that's about it. So you'll need about $20 worth of parts from Traxxas and our kit (which comes with all hardware for it to be bolt on) and you have a simple, durable, and most important of all, a better performing Slash.
I'm trying to bring the price down to no more than $40 for our conversion kit, so it takes only $60 for the customers to take their slash to the next level....or give it a 2nd chance

So yeah, pretty much just a frame. That's awesome man.
I've still got a (heavily modified) Slash in my shop, had plans to take it all the way with a ProTrac kit and LCG chassis but then Associated released the SC10 and that was the end of that. Lately I've been wanting to pick it up again as a "rental racer" for friends and such, this might be just the thing to kick off the rebuild.

Finally a well thought out design.....plus a great price! I am eagerly awaiting
this LCG chassis. It will look nice w/ all the other STRC parts I have on my
2wd already. Looks like all you need is a Rustler upper & lower chassis plus battery strap
along with an existing Slash and youll be all set . And of course the STRC LCG kit
This will only be allowed in the Pro class I take it ...... which is a shame. They should let them in the stock class,it's not like it makes more power. Just makes the truck easier to handle.
Keep up th great product's

Hey Steve,
Where was this 2 months ago when I needed it?
Looks great! One thing: it seems like the battery position will be in the center, more or less, of the chassis. I know a lot of people like to slide the battery to the rear (just in front of rear shock tower) for better rear traction in the Slash, but that may not be possible with this conversion.
Let us know how it handles!

Just tuck the esc on the lower extension plate and the rx on the upper plate. Doing this should put some weight towards the rear.
