New HPI Blitz Owner
Just bought one from the for sale threads. Any advice for a guy looknig to make a come back after 15 years? Probably will race it in a parking lot at the local shop and run it around in some dirt. What breaks? What should I have on hand? Tire recos? It's stock for the most part...

First thing I would do is change the servo. To something faster and stronger.

I picked up a Hitec HS-5645mg from Hobbytown for my ESE. Didn't break the bank and its got plenty of torque and speed. .18 speed and 168oz of torque @ 6v and it was only like $55 bucks.

These Hpi trucks are great! I haven't had many problems at all! I did upgrade the servo to a hitec hs645 for $35 brand new from amainhobbies.com as far as breaking stuff, there hasn't been much but the rear bumper and a front a arm. Check out this video of my truck!

I have the hitec 645 as well and it works great for me. Others may say its not a good servo but for my budget it works well.
