Default 10.5 motor recomendations

I was about to pick up a 10.5 motor to go into my 2wd SC10. I already have a Tekin RX8 so I was thinking I would try the Redline 10.5. Anyone have any experience with this motor in a 2wd?
What do you think is the best setup?

I would go with the Tekin RS and the Redline 10.5 motor.

I run the Tekin RS and the Redline 10.5 system in my T4 and it is a rocketship. I just finished building my FT SC10 and was going to either run the 10.5 or the 8.5 redline in it.

They let them in the 4wd class.....I have the 2050 RX8 combo on the way for
a 4wd Slash. I do run the RS w/ Novak 10.5 and 13mm ht rotor in my 2wd Slash and it 's a handfull

I replaced this RX8 in my 1/8th buggy and went to a MMP. Lots of my buddies run MMP's in thier 1/10 so whats the difference?

So pretty sure an 8.5 motor on a tight track is not an option?

I would say maybe with the 14mm HT rotor and a mild throttle curve.
I like the ht rotor's in high kv motor's. Since the bigger rotor lose's some
rpm , but run's so much cooler.

I have a 8.5ss 5800kv that I put my 13mm rotor in for bashing around. It
will pull the wheel's up on a 2s w/ the RS in sensord mode.

throttle control would have to come into play I know alot of the guys a race at run 8.5 and 9.5 mainly because the 10.5 are getting hot from gearing them to much?

ya everything I run seems to get hot. I play with gearing and if its not the motor its the esc. I suppose an 8.5 wouldn't really have this issue if you set it up mild.
