Default Stay away from Venom lipos

They are complete garbage.
I picked up a sc8 with the 2200mmm combo and a 35c 4s 5000mah Venom black hardcase lipo at the LHS earlier last month.
My 4s Turnigy soft cases came today and they blow the venom out of the water.

The venom is way way overrated. I was only able to put 4400-4550mah back into it after hitting the LVC. Where as the turnigys it sucks back up 4800+.

Speed and torque doesnt even compare, according to the iphone GPS I strapped to the truck the venom clocked 39.42mph, with the turnigys I hit 44.24mph.
Quite a huge difference considering both packs are "rated" the exact same.
Torque was hugely improved as well, I was able to get the front tires a hair off the ground with the turnigys.

I never felt so ripped off in my life, paid $150 for the venoms while the turnigys were $60 each.

I have a pair of 2S 20C 5400 Venoms that out perform my Zippy batteries. Not as much punch because of the lower C rating, but still take more than the mAh rating and never once have they swelled even a little.

Luck of the draw I guess.

I really do not think you should be running you lipos so low. I was taught never to run lipos more than 80% of capacity.
I would never dream to take more than 4000mah out of a 5000mah batt.
I did that when I first started and my batts puffed rather quickly.
You are diminishing longevity and to me, that is a waste of money.
What is your LVC?
