Why is 6s easier on an esc compared to 4s

The higher the voltage the lower the amperage draw will be. This relates to anything electrical, which is why lights in most all large office buildings and factories are run on 277/480v instead of 120/208v or 110-220v. The same applies for motors and such for elevators and assembly/ manufacturing factories.

I finally finished my Ve8 and put a 1400kv tekin on 2500mah 30c 6s and took it out in front of the house. It sure is smooth but doesn't seem to have as much power as my 2200kv on 4s. Is that because of the torque of the 2200kv? I just want to make sure I have enough power to get around the track.

Here ya go. The first site tells you how to gear your setup for the same speed:
http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html
the second site tells you how many amps you are pulling, along with other info:
http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_speed_amp.html
(In an Austrian accent) Go there! Go there now!

??????????????????????????????????????????????????
question ??????? so if i buy a high c rated pack -like 50 c 4s lipo is not the going to help any thang, like heat
what mah 5s lipo do i need for a buggy to run 15 minuts?
so i guess a 3s 5800 lipo will not lower any heat in the speed control or motor?

Yes, it will help lower the temp of the battery because the higher "C" rated packs have lower internal resistance.
what mah 5s lipo do i need for a buggy to run 15 minuts?
Id start with a 4000mah and see where that gets you.
so i guess a 3s 5800 lipo will not lower any heat in the speed control or motor?
Compared to the higher cell counts, no.

So let me get this straight in my head. It seems that esc temps are more dependent on the motor than on the batteries? If we lower the Kv of the motor we must increase the voltage of the pack in order to get a competitive speed. So if I were to switch from a 1900Kv motor to a 1700Kv motor and still use 4s I would be sacrificing speed but my esc would run at a lower temp. am i understanding this correctly? I am sorry if this has been covered many times before but I'll be willing to bet I am not the only one slightly confused by all of this.

In my experience, I haven't noticed a significant differnet motor temps regardless of the setups and I have raced everything from 3s to 6s. What creates temps more than anything is ensuring the motors have enough torque. This is why the four pole motors such as Neu, Castle, Tekin, adn Xerun run cooler than the two pole motors from Novak, LRP, etc.

Amps are what create the heat in the ESC. When we use higher voltage, the less amps are needed to create the needed power, so the ESC runs cooler. The same is also true of the batteries. The higher voltage setups are easier on the batteries which is why you can get away with running lower C rated packs because the battery doesn't have to work as hard to supply the needed amps (which is why higher voltage setups use packs with less overall Mah for the same run time).

i need some better batteries then, like 40c plus if i am going to run 4s. time to buy good stuff.
