Slash 2 or 4x4, sc10,hpi blitz
I'm looking at running Open SCT racing. I have been looking at a few as in the title the traxxas slash,Associated SC10 or the HPI Blitz which ever one I go with the motor and esc will be after market so thats not part of my decision. on the outside they all look equal as I learned from racing vta the car you drive helps but in the end set up matters. Are they mostly evenly matched?

i only have a slash and its stock, but i wouldnt remmend it in a mod class if you want good handling.
i would say the sc10 is proberty, the best for open sc even though i never driven the sc10 but its on a proven t4 chassis.
and it will proberty handle the best in mod.

I personally have an sc10 and a strike and have driven the slash 2wd and a blitz. I personally think the sc10 is the best racer and the blitz is really good too. But the slash while being a nicer setup than the strike still doesn't seem like its on the same level as the sc10 and the blitz. I run my sc10 with a havoc And it runs like a champ and handles amazing. Just my two cents.

Out of the trucks you mentioned, I would definently say to go for the SC10 if racing is your main objective. On the other hand, you mentioned that you want to run in the open class, which, at most tracks is dominated by 4x4's.
If 4x4's are allowed in your tracks open class, you wont stand a chance with a 2 wheel drive truck! If 4x4 is allowed, you cant go wrong with a Hyper 10SC.

i dont know if your track does this, but the track i go to mixes the 2wd sc with the 4x4 and counts them separate.
the only thing that sucks is when, you get somebody who drives like a wild animal with the 4x4 and can, break you if you have a weaker sc truck.

I drive an SC10 and run in the top 3 when I race vs. guys running the class spec 13.5. Running a speed passion GT2.0 esc with the new roar spec no boost profile on a 17.5 Duo 1 motor.
Drivers skill is everything. Regardless I'd say SC10 with RPM arms. My truck has broken a metal chair unscaved
